Wintertime

What Makes Me Happy.... Winter Wonderlands.

I peered out my window early Sunday morning, to my great surprise there was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen. My favorite snow was falling, large fluffy snowflake clusters were lazily making thier way down to the big blanket of perfect snow that had already landed on the ground.

Later in the afternoon I discovered that this snow turned my scenic home into a glorious winter wonderland. I trudged out to start my vehicle hearing that glorious crunch underfoot and soon realizing that the snow wasn't just a few centimeters deep, it was close to 10 inches thick and it was sticky...... which meant it was perfect for snowball fights and snowmen. I watched the kids run off into the snow piles and take off tobogganning, this brought back warm memories of my parents old wood burning stove, the smell of dry wood being eaten up by a hungry fire and making hot chocolate with marshmallows after playing in the back yard for hours on end.

Touring the town by night time it seems the holiday lights glisten gleam and sparkle all that much more when they are accented by the snow.

I think fondly of ice queens, jack frost and his many works of art, snow fairies and winter princesses.

This is a time where my imagination thrives and so many thoughts warm me up depite the cold air outside.

Grab a great big cup of tea, coffee, hot chocolate or delicious apple cider, gather up your warm blankets and your family and enjoy a beautiful evening together making new memories and sharing your old ones.

Being Inspired

What Makes Me Happy....

Seeing the power of people in action. Having people come together from all walks of life, all points of view, all different backgrounds to stand up and fight for a common belief makes me happy.

Seeing people in action inspires me
Being inspired makes me hope for a better future
Being optimistic for the people of my country ........ makes me very happy.

Taking time .

What Makes Me Happy....

Taking time..... for love.

As I drive through life I sometimes get caught up in the fast pace rushing to work.

I spend my day hurry to get things done.

I then get caught up in the never ending "to do" lists, the homework, the domestics.

I forget to stop and take the time to tell them "I love you."

I forget to take the time to say "I care" and ask "How are you?" and then listen to exactly how you feel.

So today I was blessed.

I was blessed with time.

Time to catch up and say:

"Hey how are you?"

"I miss you. "

"I love you"

and today I am going to take my blessing of time

and spend it

in love

because

Love is one thing

not to take for granted

for life is too short

and

time passes too quickly.

So what makes me happy today.... Taking time..... for love.

Movies That Move You

What Makes Me Happy.... Inspirational Documentaries
Favela Rising is a documentary that follows the life of Anderson Sa who not only brings hope, positivity and music to a violent and drug run favela, but also overcomes one of the most debilitating disabilities you could imagine. A true hero and inspiration. In the directors words, "FAVELA RISING celebrates the strength of the human spirit to assert itself in the face of human rights violations, social injustice, and unexpected adversity. Chronicling the rise to greatness of the AfroReggae movement, the film shows how the music and culture of Brazil's underclass transform into a catalyst for grassroots social-change. But most of all, FAVELA RISING is the story of a community that works. The success of the film should be judged on how well it serves to activate its viewers; how well it inspires action." www.favelarising.com
